It is never an easy decision to homeschool your child, however when you do decide to do it just be consistent with your schedule. Here are some tips on homeschooling your child:
List down your reasons for homeschooling
You need a clear vision of why you want to homeschool your child. Is it because you’re not happy with the education system or is it because you think that you would be a better resource for your child to learn from? Just list down all your reasons for doing so and keep reminding yourself when you do lose the drive to keep going. Remember, homeschooling is actually quite a daunting task, so don’t be too hard on yourself when things get tricky.
Set goals that you can manage
Make a curriculum for your child to follow from month to month with defined objectives. Also figure out a way to track your child’s progress when trying to achieve those objectives.
Make it fun
Let’s be honest, you have to make each lesson more fun. You will learn new things along with your child.
Make sure your child socializes
Since your child will be spending a lot of time at home, you need to make sure that they get the right amount of socialization with kids their age.
It’s very important to ensure that all of your child’s social and academic needs are met.
